KUALA LUMPUR, 24 SEPTEMBER 2011 - It was not your typical open house at the Grand Ballroom in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) today. In fact, it was an extravagant Arabian affair as family, friends and patrons of NAZA World celebrated this festive season with a 'Ya Habibi Naza Aidilfitri' themed Hari Raya Open House.

The splendidly decorated ballroom was a kaleidoscope of colours filled with staff and guests in vibrant Arabic dressing as they indulged in the tantalizing spread of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Arabic and western food. As they enjoyed the food and good company, they were delighted by the tuneful sounds of Datuk David Arumugam of the popular Malaysian band, Alleycats, as well as captivating dance performances to tunes complimenting the theme of the day and musicians playing P. Ramlee's famous songs.  Showcased in each corner of the room, enthralling the car fanatics were some of NAZA's finest vehicles; the Ferrari 458 Italia, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro and Maserati Grancabrio.

Exuberant staff and family arrived in stunning Arabian fashion, eager to display their singing abilities during staff karaoke and enthusiastically awaited the results of the 'Best-dressed' challenge. Preceding the announcement was a lucky draw and cake cutting session.

The NAZA Aidilfitri open house was graced by some royal family and ambassadors as well as some well-known celebrities.

The extended NAZA family of various clubs joined in the festivities with 200 members from The Bladers Club, Vespa, Aprilia, Harley Owner's Group and Ducati Club Malaysia attending the open house.

Before the festivities began, close to 1500 NAZA World staff and top management  paused for a moment of peace and prayer for the late Noramfaizul Mohd Nor, a 39 year old Bernama TV cameraman whose life was tragically cut short when he was hit by a stray bullet while on assignment covering the recent conflict in Somalia.

Deeply moved by the story and the hardship Noramfaizul's widow and two young sons were now confronted with, Datuk Wira Haji SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin felt that NAZA World could make a gesture that would alleviate some of the family's financial strife.

"Having two young sons of my own, this story has especially affected me. Noramfaizul was an honourable man who dedicated himself to his work, even when it took him abroad during Hari Raya over the last two years," said Datuk Wira Haji SM Faisal - Joint Group Executive Chairman, NAZA Group of Companies.

"I felt that whilst we could in no way take away the pain of losing their loved one we hope that our small contribution can bring some financial relief to the family namely Puan Norazrina Jaafar, and the two sons,  Mohd Irfan and Mohd Naufal, as they begin their journey of healing," he shared.

Besides the contribution to the family of the late Noramfaizul, NAZA World also donated a Kia Pregio 12-seater van to SUKRAN (Pertubuhan Sukarelawan Hospital Negeri Selangor) and RM5,000 each to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Al-Nasuha, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak-anak Yatim Islam Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Ikatan Ibu Tunggal Negeri Sembilan.  Senator Dato' Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, the guest of honor, gave away Duit Raya to 80 children from the two orphanages, and present the cash contributions to both orphanages and the home for single mothers.
