KUALA LUMPUR, December 3 - Naza TTDI raised a total of RM1.1 million in proceeds from its Charity Golf Tournament here, today. The proceeds, which come from Naza TTDI's business partners, associates, contractors and suppliers, are part of a collective effort which aims to alleviate the burdens of the less fortunate and under privileged.

Its Group Managing Director, SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin, who is also Deputy Executive Chairman of Naza TTDI Group of Companies said, "The Charity Golf Tournament forms part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to give back to the community. We are indeed honoured to have garnered the continuous support from our various stakeholders to be a part of this noble cause throughout the nine years that we have organised this event." He said this in his speech at the prize-giving ceremony held after the Naza TTDI Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC), here today.

The Charity Golf Tournament is organized by Naza TTDI on a yearly basis with the objective of raising funds to be donated to charitable organizations. Incepted in 2003, the tournament involves Naza TTDI's business partners, associates, contractors and suppliers coming on board as part of a collective effort to complement the Government's vision of creating a caring society. The first Naza TTDI Charity Golf held at Kinrara Golf Club, Puchong collected an amount of RM150,000. To date, a total of RM7.8 million has been collected from the Charity Golf Tournament. Each year, proceeds from the tournament are channelled to various charity organizations nationwide; including Sabah and Sarawak, non-profit organizations, various orphanages, children's welfare homes, hospices and disease foundations, single mothers' welfare associations, handicapped as well as other social bodies.

"This year, Naza TTDI is proud to announce that the charity golf event is being organised in collaboration with Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin which was incorporated in March 2011 in honour of my late father. It aims to provide financial aid in the form of educational scholarships, student expenditures and donations to charitable organisations." said SM Faliq.

Earlier, 120 golfers comprising government officials, corporate figures as well as top level media executives took part in the Charity Golf Tournament which offered 4 hole-in-one prizes comprising a Peugeot 308 1.6 (A),  an all-new Sportage 2.0 (A), a Chevrolet Captiva 2.4 (A) and a Peugeot 508 1.6 (A).

Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Well-being,Yang Berhormat Senator Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin,  presented the cheque donations to representatives of The Cancerlink Foundation,Yayasan Hepar Malaysia, The National Autism Society of Malaysia, The Malaysian Aids Council, IJN Foundation and Badan Amal Lembah Pantai.

Also present at the event were Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Datuk Seri Utama Mohd Khalil Yaakob, Yang di- Pertua Negeri of Malacca,  Yang Berbahagia SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin, Chairman, Naza TTDI and Joint Group Executive Chairman, Naza Group of Companies and Yang Berbahagia Dato' Wira Haji SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman, Naza Group of Companies.
