November 11 2010

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 11 - Naza Automotive Manufacturing (NAM), the manufacturing arm of the Naza Group, today donated RM100,000 to the 'Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima' to assist in providing much needed aid to flood victims in Kedah, Perlis and Kelantan.

The cheque was presented by NAM CEO, En SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin to Dato' Amrin Awaluddin, Group Managing Director of Media Prima Bhd.

Thousands in Kedah, Perlis and Kelantan have been displaced following massive floods which began in the three states a week ago.

SM Nasarudin said the donation from NAM, which has a production plant in Gurun, Kedah, was part of the Naza Group's efforts in raising emergency funds and providing assistance to victims of the floods.

"Our thoughts are with those affected by the floods. We hope this donation will provide some much needed aid to the victims," he said.

The 'Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima' was launched on Nov 3 and has been raising funds to provide humanitarian essentials such as food items and drinking water, hygiene kits, blankets, baby food/formula, diapers and other basic necessities.

NAM's RM500 million production plant in Gurun produces locally-assembled Kia and Peugeot models for both Malaysia and other markets in Asean. NAM began operations in May 2004.
