NASIM gets award for building Peugeot brand

NASIM gets award for building Peugeot brand Nasim Sdn Bhd, which invested nearly RM10mil to build the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, recently received official recognition for its efforts from the Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce

The award is given to companies that had significantly enhanced economic relations between France and Malaysia.

Nasim general manager Samson Anand George and Automobiles Peugeot Asean regional office general director Dominique Dourouze jointly received the award from International Trade and Industry Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin last Saturday.

Samson said Nasim’s key strategy was to build the Peugeot brand through proper positioning, having the right products for the market at all times and strengthening the professionalism of the sales and service chain while rationalising parts and service prices.

“These key strategies would continuously promote Peugeot in Malaysia and help maintain Malaysia’s position as France’s second largest trading partner among Asean economies,” he said.

Dourouze said the Naza group, with its vast experience and reach in retailing high-end luxury marques, was well positioned to push Peugeot to greater heights in Malaysia.

He added that Nasim had gained much through the close working relationship that it had established with Automobiles Peugeot since 2004.

This was mainly through the completely knocked-down (CKD) programmes which began with the Peugeot 206, the current Peugeot 407 and by early next year, the Peugeot 308.

The CKD programmes had enabled Nasim to create many jobs at its vehicle assembly plant in Gurun, Kedah.
