PEUGEOT’S ONE-TWO TRIUMPH BREAKS GERMAN DOMINANCE AT LE MANS 24 HOURS
908 HDi FAP DIESELS PROVE THEIR RELIABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

Sunday saw Team Peugeot Total secure its first victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours with the diesel-powered 908 HDi FAP which contested the French endurance classic for the first time two years ago in 2007, finally breaking Audi’s five year reign. The Peugeot squad monopolised the top-two places overall in this year’s contest.
Le Mans is Europe’s most famous and significant 24 hour racing event and to win it earns manufacturers and drivers an enormous amount of prestige. German manufacturer Audi has been a top performer in the Le Mans series’, both in Europe and in America up till now.
“It’s fantastic to see Peugeot winning at Le Mans,” said Nasim Peugeot CEO SM Nasarudin for whom victory comes at a time when Peugeot is trying hard to make a comeback in Malaysia. "Peugeot Sport did a great job with a 100% reliable, faultless car, and it’s powered by the latest in Diesel technology. We eagerly look forward to the day when we can introduce Peugeots with modern Diesel power in Malaysia as it has been proven that Peugeot’s reliability, engineering and performance are more than sufficient to take on and beat whatever the Germans and Japanese have to offer in motorsports.”
Dominique Dourouze, General Director of Automobiles Peugeot, ASEAN Countries commented, "The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP has demonstrated its reliability by winning against Audi which has been an invincible force here for practically a decade. This is the result of not just one, but four years’ hard effort. I must congratulate Peugeot Sport on organizing a great team and a phenomenal car. It’s a fantastic feeling to have won in France in a French car. I certainly hope we can offer Malaysian customers our Diesel technology sooner than later."
